Instructional Designer

This position is responsible for designing and developing high-quality online programs in collaboration with top-tier universities across the US globe

Key Responsibilities

• Build and align content with the learning outcomes, learning activities, and stakeholder specifications.
• Design storyboards for engaging and visually appealing videos to enhance learning effectiveness.
• Use visual design principles and techniques to conceptualize content, articulate ideas, and design multimedia elements.
• Collaborate with the production team and provide clear and concise instructions.
• Perform QA and QC to ensure the learning materials in the learning platform conform with the quality standards.
• Collaborate with internal and external teams to ensure project requirements and specifications are met.
• Deliver projects on time and ensure they meet the high-quality benchmarks of the organization.
• Participate in internal continuous improvement efforts by offering ideas and solutions for process improvement.
• Remain current with and have a thorough understanding of the emerging applications of instructional multimedia, instructional technology, and trends in online education, and propose improvements as appropriate.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in any discipline
• 2 to 8 years of experience in instructional design and online content development
• Excellent communication, presentation, and time management skills
• Knowledge of real-world application of adult learning theories and instructional design principles
• Demonstrated experience in scripting engaging storyboards that effectively convey ideas
• Demonstrated experience in designing and developing visually compelling videos and other multimedia assets
• Demonstrated experience in Microsoft Office Suite (i.e. MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint) and authoring tools such as Articulate 360 and H5P
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and critical-thinking skills
• Attention to detail
• Excellent written and verbal communication, management, and organizational skills
• Strong interpersonal and collaborative skills

Preferred Skills and Knowledge

• Degree or certification in Instructional Design, Educational Technology, or a related field is strongly preferred
• Demonstrated skill working with online learning tools and software
• Experience designing or converting courses for online delivery
• Knowledge of the backward design model
• Experience working on Learning Management Systems (LMS)
• Knowledge of accessibility standards
• Familiarity with known course design quality standards (e.g., Quality Matters)
