Deputy Manager - IT Asset Management

The IT Asset Management Manager is responsible for the strategic and operational management of all IT assets using the ServiceDesk Plus platform. This role ensures the organization has an accurate, compliant, and cost-effective IT asset inventory, supporting business goals through efficient resource utilization, risk mitigation, and process optimization.

Key Responsibilities:

• Manage ServiceDesk Plus Asset Module:

  Oversee daily operations of the IT asset management module within ServiceDesk Plus, including asset discovery, tracking, and data integrity.

• IT Asset Lifecycle Management:

  Manage the complete lifecycle of all IT and non-IT assets, including hardware, software, and peripherals, from procurement and deployment to maintenance, and final disposal.

• Asset Discovery and Tracking:

  Implement and manage asset discovery tools and processes within SDP to maintain an accurate, real-time inventory of all IT assets across the network. This includes managing scheduled scans and utilizing methods like barcode scanning or self-scan scripts.

• Software Asset and License Management:

  Ensure compliance with all software licenses by tracking installations, identifying unused software, managing license renewals, and optimizing usage to reduce costs.

• Process Automation and Optimization:

  Automate IT asset management workflows within ServiceDesk Plus to improve efficiency, such as setting asset replenishment thresholds and automating purchase order generation.

• Team Leadership and Development:

  Lead and mentor the asset management team, foster a collaborative environment, and provide guidance on both technical and customer service matters.

• Stakeholder Collaboration:

  Work closely with IT, finance, and other business units to align asset management strategies with organizational needs and goals.

• Reporting and Analytics:

  Utilize the reporting and dashboard features of ServiceDesk Plus to provide insights into asset utilization, costs, compliance, and risk. Analyze data to identify trends and recommend improvements.

• Contract and Purchase Management:

  Oversee the management of vendor contracts, purchase orders, and maintenance agreements through ServiceDesk Plus to ensure visibility and traceability.

• Incident and Problem Management:

  Act as an escalation point for complex asset-related incidents and work to resolve them efficiently.

Qualifications and Skills:

• Experience:

  Proven experience in IT asset management and IT service desk operations.

• Platform Expertise:

  Strong, hands-on experience with

  ManageEngine ServiceDesk Plus

  and its asset management features.

• Technical Skills:

  Solid understanding of IT infrastructure, networks, operating systems, and software management.

• Leadership:

  Demonstrated ability to lead, mentor, and motivate a technical team.

• Analytical Skills:

  Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to interpret data and generate actionable insights.

• Communication:

  Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to interact effectively with technical teams and non-technical stakeholders.

• Certifications:

  ITIL or other relevant certifications are a plus.
