Security and Compliance: Implement and enforce database security measures, including user access control, permissions, roles, and encryption. Conduct regular security audits and vulnerability assessments. Apply database patches and updates to address security vulnerabilities. Ensure compliance with data protection regulations and company policies. Troubleshooting and Support: Diagnose and resolve complex database issues, including latency, downtime, and scalability challenges. Provide proactive and reactive data management support to development teams and end-users. Participate in on-call rotation for production support as needed. Automation and Scripting: Automate routine database administration tasks using scripting languages (e.g., Bash, Python, Perl). Contribute to CI/CD pipelines for database deployment and management. Utilize infrastructure-as-code (IaC) tools like Terraform or Ansible for database provisioning and configuration. Collaboration and Communication: Collaborate effectively with developers, system administrators, and other IT teams to ensure seamless application integration and support. Translate business requirements into technical design specifications. Provide guidance and mentorship to junior DBAs and team members.
