Key Responsibilities

Database Management & Administration

Install, configure, and maintain
relational and non-relational databases
(MySQL, PostgreSQL, MongoDB, Oracle, SQL Server, etc.).
Ensure
high availability, backup, and recovery
of production databases.
Monitor database performance and
optimize query execution
for speed and efficiency.

Security & Compliance

Implement
database security policies
, user access controls, and compliance with standards (GDPR, ISO, SOC2, etc.).
Perform regular
audits, vulnerability assessments, and patches
.

Performance Optimization

Analyze database usage patterns and
tune performance
through indexing, caching, and query optimization.
Work with developers to
optimize database schemas and queries
for high-traffic applications.

Troubleshooting & Support

Identify, troubleshoot, and resolve
database errors and downtime incidents
.
Provide support for
development, staging, and production environments
.

Collaboration & Documentation

Collaborate with
engineering, DevOps, and product teams
to ensure efficient integration with backend services.
Maintain comprehensive
documentation
of database architectures, backups, and recovery processes.

Required Skills

For Freshers (0–2 Years)

Strong foundation in
SQL
and basic
database design principles
.
Knowledge of
relational databases
like MySQL or PostgreSQL.
Basic understanding of
backups, indexing, and query optimization
.
Familiarity with
Linux/Unix environments
.
Eagerness to learn advanced DBA concepts and tools.

For Experienced Professionals (2–7 Years)

Proven expertise in
administering MySQL, PostgreSQL, MongoDB, or Oracle databases
.
Strong skills in
performance tuning, replication, clustering, and high-availability architectures
.
Hands-on experience with
cloud databases
(AWS RDS, Azure SQL, Google Cloud SQL, etc.).
Knowledge of
automation scripts
using Bash, Python, or SQL scripts.
Experience with
monitoring tools
(e.g., Prometheus, Grafana, Nagios).
Familiarity with
data migration, disaster recovery planning, and scaling large datasets
