Database Administrator

As a Database Administrator at our IT company, you will play a crucial role in the design, implementation, maintenance, and optimization of our database infrastructure. Your responsibilities will include managing database servers, storage, and networking to ensure high availability, performance, and security of our database systems. You will be part of a dynamic team in Coimbatore, India, working in a full-time position with a rotational shift schedule. Your key responsibilities will involve designing, implementing, and maintaining the database infrastructure, planning and executing server upgrades and patches, managing database storage, implementing security policies, monitoring security logs and alerts, developing backup and recovery procedures, and ensuring regular backups are securely stored. To qualify for this role, you should hold a Bachelor's degree in computer science, Information Technology, or a related field. You should have a strong understanding of database technologies such as Oracle, SQL Server, MySQL, and PostgreSQL. Experience with database server operating systems like Linux and Windows, knowledge of storage technologies like SAN and NAS, and proficiency in database performance tuning, optimization, and security practices are essential. Strong problem-solving and communication skills are also required. This position offers a work environment that is primarily office-based, with occasional on-site visits and remote work flexibility. There may be requirements for evening or weekend work for system upgrades or troubleshooting.
