Role Overview BTG Advayas tax practice is looking to hire a Senior Consultant in Mumbai with demonstrated expertise in transactional tax matters . The role will focus on evaluating and structuring tax implications for mergers, acquisitions, joint ventures, private equity/VC investments, and complex business restructurings. The candidate will play a key role in guiding clients through deal structuring, conducting tax due diligence, and advising on cross-border transactions, while also ensuring compliance and efficiency in tax strategies. Key Responsibilities Transactional Tax Advisory Structure and advise on domestic and cross-border M&A transactions, including share purchases, asset sales, slump sales, mergers, and demergers. Provide tax-efficient solutions for buy-side and sell-side deals, private equity/venture capital investments, and group reorganisations. Advise on inbound and outbound investments, with a focus on treaty benefits, withholding tax, and permanent establishment risks. Evaluate the tax impact of financing arrangements, shareholder agreements, earn-outs, and exit strategies. Due Diligence & Compliance Lead comprehensive tax due diligence exercises covering corporate tax, indirect tax, and transfer pricing. Analyse and implement Indian transfer pricing rules, preparing documentation and benchmarking for inter-company arrangements. Prepare and review corporate tax returns, TDS filings, Form 15CA/CB, and related compliance documentation. Research, Litigation & Client Support Interpret evolving tax legislation and regulatory changes to identify risks and opportunities for clients. Support in drafting submissions for tax appeals and provide litigation assistance where necessary. Collaborate with internal teams across practice areas to deliver integrated and commercially sound tax solutions. Client Management Engage directly with clients to explain complex transactional tax concepts in a clear and practical manner. Build trusted relationships with corporate clients, investors, and deal teams by providing timely, strategic, and solution-oriented advice.
