Job Description – QC Lab Assistant
Department: Quality Control – Lab
Industry: FMCG (Bakery, Namkeen & Food Products)
Reporting To: Quality Supervisor / Quality Manager

Role Summary:
The QC Lab Assistant will support the Quality Supervisor in ensuring that all raw materials, in-process products, and finished goods comply with the company’s quality standards. The role includes maintaining lab equipment, supporting documentation, ensuring proper reagent usage, and maintaining cleanliness and discipline within the lab.

Key Responsibilities:
1. Lab Operations & Equipment Handling
Assist in upkeep, cleaning, and routine maintenance of all lab equipment.
Ensure proper calibration and functioning of measuring instruments.
Report any equipment malfunction immediately to the Quality Supervisor.
2. Reagents & Material Handling
Maintain stock of all reagents, chemicals, and lab consumables.
Ensure accurate usage, proper labeling, and safe storage of all reagents.
Support in receiving and recording materials being taken in for testing.
3. Inventory & Material Management
Maintain inventory of all lab materials required for efficient functioning.
Ensure materials are properly stacked to avoid time loss and ensure quick retrieval.
4. Testing & Documentation
Support in conducting routine quality checks for raw materials, in-process samples, and finished products.
Maintain accurate test records, daily logbooks, and supporting documents.
Assist team members in completing and verifying lab documentation
5. Cleanliness & Hygiene
Ensure the lab area is always clean, sanitized, and well-organized.
Follow and enforce hygiene standards as per food safety guidelines.
6. Coordination & Support
Coordinate with production, store, and housekeeping teams for smooth functioning.
Assist any team member in their tasks during absence to ensure uninterrupted quality operations.
Ensure cleaning materials, tools, and equipment are available and properly used.
7. Compliance & Safety
Follow all SOPs, GMP, and food safety standards required in FMCG production.
Adhere to safety protocols while handling chemicals and equipment.

Required Qualifications:
B.Sc. / M.Sc. (Chemistry, Microbiology, Food Technology preferred).
MIN 1–2 years experience in QC/QA Lab (Food, FMCG, Bakery preferred).
Basic knowledge of lab testing methods and record-keeping.

Skills Required:
Attention to detail and accuracy.
Good communication and coordination skills.
Knowledge of hygiene, safety, and food quality standards.
Ability to follow SOPs and maintain documentation.
Job Types: Full-time, Permanent
Pay: ₹13,000.00 - ₹16,000.00 per month
