Backend Engineer

Role Summary

You will design, build, and maintain the backend foundation— including ingestion, parsing, embeddings, vector search, and policy‑controlled exports. You will also manage CI/CD, containerization, and data‑security compliance.

Responsibilities

 Develop core FastAPI microservices for ingestion, chat, export, and receipt modules.
 Implement Celery workers for background tasks (parse → chunk → embed → store). Design and optimize PostgreSQL + pgvector schemas for RAG and audit data. Integrate Redis for async queue management and caching. Implement Q‑CERT generation, signing, and storage. Maintain Docker Compose / container environments and Supabase integration. Manage Vault / secret rotation and environment configuration. Build test scripts and acceptance gates for VAULT‑only operation. Monitor system performance and support observability (OpenTelemetry / Loki).

Required Skills

 Python (FastAPI, asyncio, Celery).
 PostgreSQL + pgvector. Redis, Docker, basic CI/CD pipelines. Understanding of RAG concepts and embeddings (Hugging Face / bge models). Familiarity with secure API design and data handling.

Preferred (Bonus)

 Experience with Supabase (Auth, Storage, Functions).
 Exposure to LangChain or LlamaIndex. Familiarity with Kubernetes and GitHub Actions. Knowledge of basic cryptography or audit‑trail systems.

Work Style

 Cross‑functional with AI and Frontend engineers.
 Weekly progress demos and version‑controlled commits. Small, security‑sensitive environment — attention to detail is mandatory.

Duration & Growth

Initial engagement: 3‑month contract with possible full‑time extension based on performance and delivery quality.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: ₹25,000.00 - ₹45,000.00 per month
