Software Engineer – Privacy Engineering & Automation

About the Role

We’re looking for a skilled Software Engineer to join the Privacy Engineering Center of Excellence team. In this role, you will support the global privacy program by building and maintaining automation solutions for privacy rights management, including data subject access requests (DSARs), data deletion, opt-outs, and consent handling.

You will also support additional privacy initiatives such as Privacy-by-Design reviews and the development of Privacy Enhancing Technologies, collaborating with teams across Security, Product, Legal, and Engineering to ensure scalable and compliant solutions.

This is a critical privacy-focused engineering role, utilizing platforms like OneTrust and backend programming languages such as Java

Responsibilities

• Design and develop backend services to automate privacy rights workflows (DSARs, consent, data deletion).
• Integrate privacy management platforms (e.g., OneTrust) with internal systems and data sources.
• Build secure APIs and automation pipelines for identity verification and regulatory requests.
• Translate compliance requirements into technical features in collaboration with cross-functional teams.
• Conduct Privacy-by-Design reviews.
• Ensure compliance with GDPR, CCPA, and other privacy regulations.
• Monitor and enhance the performance and reliability of privacy automation systems.
• Contribute to documentation, audit trails, and compliance reporting.
• Support technical privacy requirements for AI systems and tools.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent practical experience.
• 3+ years of experience in software engineering, ideally in privacy, security, or compliance domains.
• Proficiency in Java, Kotlin, or similar modern programming languages.
• Experience with privacy platforms such as OneTrust, BigID, or TrustArc.
• Familiarity with global privacy laws (e.g., GDPR, CCPA).
• Experience with APIs, microservices, and cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, etc.).
• Understanding of authentication, access control, and data security best practices.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience automating DSAR workflows and consent management.
• Knowledge of identity providers (e.g., Okta).
• Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and containerized environments (Docker, Kubernetes).
• A passion for privacy, data ethics, and privacy rights automation.
