About the Role

Automation Test Engineer

Key Responsibilities

Design, develop, and execute
automation test scripts
for telecom devices (Routers, Switches, RUs, Modems).
Perform
L2/L3 protocol validation
(TCP, UDP, DHCP, DNS, VLAN, IPv4/IPv6, NAT, IGMP, ARP, ICMP).
Work extensively with
Traffic Generators (Spirent / Ixia)
for performance, stress, and stability testing.
Automate test cases using
Python scripting
,
Robot Framework
, and related libraries.
Integrate automation into
CI/CD pipelines
(Jenkins or equivalent).
Analyze test results, identify issues, log defects, and collaborate with developers for resolutions.
Participate in
Agile ceremonies
daily stand-ups, sprint planning, retrospectives.
Contribute to continuous improvement of test frameworks, coverage, and quality standards.

Required Skills

Programming / Scripting:
Python (mandatory).
Automation Frameworks:
Robot Framework, PyATS/Genie, Selenium, Pytest.
Traffic Generators:
Spirent TestCenter / Ixia (hands-on mandatory).
Networking Protocols:
DHCP, DNS, TCP, UDP, VLAN, NAT, IPv4, IPv6, IGMP, ARP.
Tools:
Git, Jira, Wireshark, Jenkins, Linux.
Methodologies:
SDLC, STLC, Agile/Scrum.

Good to Have

Experience with
5G/ORAN / Telecom Modems / RUs
.
Exposure to
Docker / Virtual environments / Cloud-based test labs
.
Knowledge of
performance testing and traffic profiling
