Artificial Intelligence Engineer

Astroved seeking a talented AI/ML Engineer to join our founding technical team and work alongside our Senior AI/ML Engineer. This is a fantastic opportunity for a strong mid-level engineer ready to level up and take on significant ownership in building sophisticated AI systems.

Your Focus: Build specialized AI agents, develop predictive ML models, optimize RAG systems, and ensure AI quality. You will work on 100% AI/ML and backend - NO mobile development required.

What You Will Build

You will work on exciting AI/ML projects with clear scope and guidance from our Senior AI Engineer. Here is how your time will be distributed:

Specialized AI Agents (40%)

· Career Guidance Agent - Help users with professional decisions

· Health Predictions Agent - Wellness forecasts based on charts

· Financial Planning Agent - Money and prosperity guidance

· Compatibility Agent - Relationship analysis and matching

· Education Agent - Academic success and learning paths

· You will own these agents end-to-end with senior engineer review

ML Model Development (30%)

· Transit Prediction Models - Forecast planetary impacts

· Compatibility Scoring - Relationship potential algorithms

· Life Event Forecasting - Predict career and health milestones

· Recommendation Systems - Personalized remedy suggestions

· Work with senior engineer on model architecture

· Own training, evaluation, and deployment

RAG System Enhancement (20%)

· Expand astrological knowledge base

· Improve semantic search accuracy

· Optimize retrieval speed (<100ms target)

· Implement better ranking algorithms

· Test and validate knowledge quality

· Document improvements and learnings

Backend API Support (10%)

· Build API endpoints for your AI features

· Write clear API documentation

· Optimize database queries

· Implement caching for your models

· Background jobs with Celery

· Learn production backend practices

Must-Have Technical Skills

LLM & Agent Systems:

· 3+ years working with AI/ML in production

· Experience with LangChain, LangGraph, or similar frameworks

· Built chatbots, agents, or conversational AI systems

· Understanding of prompt engineering

· Comfortable integrating LLM APIs (OpenAI, Anthropic)

· Basic understanding of multi-agent architectures

Vector Databases & RAG:

· Experience with vector databases (Pinecone, Weaviate, ChromaDB)

· Built or worked on RAG (Retrieval Augmented Generation) systems

· Understanding of embeddings and semantic search

· Knowledge of how to optimize retrieval quality

· Hands-on with at least one vector database in a project

ML Fundamentals:

· Solid foundation in machine learning concepts

· Experience with PyTorch OR TensorFlow

· Built and trained ML models (even if smaller scale)

· Understanding of model evaluation and metrics

· Familiarity with fine-tuning approaches

· Some experience with recommendation systems or time-series

Python Development:

· 3+ years professional Python experience

· Built APIs with FastAPI

· Understanding of async programming basics

· Write clean, readable, documented code

· Comfortable with git and code reviews

· Basic testing with pytest

Databases:

· Worked with PostgreSQL

· Understanding of SQL queries and optimization

· Basic Redis usage (caching, sessions)

· Comfortable designing database schemas

· Understanding of indexing and performance

MLOps Basics:

· Familiar with Docker and containers

· Understanding of CI/CD concepts

· Used AWS, GCP, or Azure (basic level is fine)

· Some monitoring and logging experience

React Native (Added Advantage):

· Experience with React Native or mobile development

· Understanding of mobile API integration patterns

· Knowledge of React ecosystem (hooks, state management)
